United Arab Chemical Carriers (UACC)-Dubai
UACC was established in Dubai International Financial Centre ("DIFC") in 2007, and is a private company owned by both strong industrial companies and key individuals in the region.
UACC is strategically well located in a region which is witnessing strong economic growth and is fast emerging as the largest exporting hub for petrochemicals and petroleum products. This provides unique opportunities to UACC in terms of employment of its vessels.
The company's strategy envisages leveraging its regional base and shareholders' long-standing relationships with the regional governments and petrochemical manufacturers/exporters to grab a significant share of this trade for gainful employment of its fleet.
The largest individual shareholder of UACC is United Arab Shipping Company ("UASC" - see www.uasc.net), who is a sovereign company owned by six states in the Middle East Gulf. UASC is also the largest container operator in the region and is represented in 52 countries around the world. UACC thus will be able to leverage UASC's existing customer base and established global network.
A proportion of our fleet will be owned by our subsidiary in Saudi Arabia, Arabian Chemical Carriers Company ("ACC"), and will fly the national flag of Saudi Arabia. ACC has operated in the chemical shipping market for over 20 years.
