GEM's primary objective is to operate with high standards of safety and quality in ship construction and its operation and management. GEM's paid-up capital is USD 129 M and its asset value exceeds USD 1 Billion. GEM's growth perspective is a long term strategic one and accordingly majority of its vessels are expected to be fixed in a mixed portfolio of long-term and spot charters. Assured revenues in excess of $ 300 million have already been contracted.
GEM currently has the fleet of 19 Trading and Newbuilding ships, which comprises of ten modern panamax tankers and nine chemical/product tankers to be delivered between 2006 and 2009.
GEM has been awarded with ISO 9001-2000 Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 14001-2004 Environment Management System (EMS) Certification. Furthermore, the Company has also completed the online submission of its Tanker Management Self Assessment (TMSA) form as required by the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) -- a best practice guide for ship operators.
